nope. baby showers are for the women folk only. i don't want to have to sit there and ohh and ahh over every little cute thing my wife opens. would rather have a beer with the guys while the women folk are doing the women thing.

I've been to one and all parties were satisfied with the arrangement. The idea of all-female baby showers is problematic, because it implies that the father (if there is one) is not interested in being involved with the child. Otherwise, he'd want to participate in this important event, and so would other male relatives. Is he going to skip out on her ballet recital later on because "ballet is for girls" and he'd rather watch football?

My husband and I had a joint baby shower in May and all our famliy and friends came, young and old even the baby's great,great grandfather and we all had a great time. I was glad I was able to share that with all my good firends and famliy.
