I think it is too early to judge now; the team may be ready to kick on this season and challenge in the postseason if things go well, and if they do that and he is playing well then I would say keep on going - right now he is still easily the best quarterback within the organisation. But if the team doesn't quite kick on to the next level after this season's rebuilding, then it is almost certainly time to rebuild the quarterback spot too. The above paragraph answers the question "SHOULD he retire?" not "WILL he retire?" - despite the fact that there could easily be a scenario where staying on makes sense, I am 99.9% sure that he has already decided absolutely that 2007-08 is it for him. He won't even let the whole media circus start up debating it this time around, that is getting old... he may even come out and say this is his last season before kick-off.
