  • Call a doctor.
  • i have a huge 85lb mutt that does that too. he is the only dog i have ever had that does it that much. and he always lays on the floor between me and my wife. before we realized it was him, we were giving each other dirty looks. i have 3 dogs, all eat the same thing but he is the only one that does that.
  • A friend of mine had a dog who did that so he took it to the vet and the vet x-rayed the dog and found out His dog had swallowed a super-ball. once the ball was removed the farting stopped.
  • quite possibly can be the diet, but some older dogs just start doing that - is he old?
  • You can try by changing his diet.........or he just might be an old fart dog!
  • 2 things, change the diet and a butt plug of course! lol +5
  • If you are feeding him Kibble or canned food, then he is not eating a Species Appropriate Diet. DOGS and Cats and even Ferrets are all designed to eat, digest and utilize RAW MEATS (80%) BONES (10%) AND ORGANS (10%) They do not digest Grains, fruits or veggies very well at all, which is why Raw Fed dogs poop so much less and also usually less often...more of what they eat, is being used by their body. Kibble fed dogs poop much more and more often too. You might say your kibble fed dog is eating your money and then just pooping it right back out again. I would almost bet that this dog is a gulper when he eats...maybe not, but I'll bet he does. This means there is a lot of AIR also being swallowed. Handing a dog this size a half of a RAW chicken to work on or even a whole chicken...will slow him down some. RAW BONES ARE SOFT AND CRUNCH RIGHT UP. COOKED BONES of ANY TYPE are dangerous, they become brittle when cooked and can break into sharp shards when chewed. Typically all bones purchased from Pet Stores have been COOKED. I spend less money feeding raw too. I used to spend between $75 and $125 a month feeding death nuggets and canned food to our 2 dogs and 4 cats. NOW I spend between $35 and $65 - $70 per month...both before and after includes Cat litter too. I get a fair amount of FREE MEATS off of good people on my local Freecycle! It may be freezer burned, but the dogs and cats don't care and it doesn't effect the nutritional value enough to be any problem at all! http://www.skylarzack.com/rawfeeding.htm http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/rawfeeding/ http://www.rawfeddogs.net/Recipes INFORMATION IS POWER...become EMPOWERED TODAY.
  • It's more than likely the diet:)RedHawk made a lot of good points, considering what I know about you, the raw meat thing may be a little outside your norm, but I definitely agree that you should avoid foods w/ too much grain and veggies in it. He may have allergies too.Maybe ask your vet what he/she thinks is an appropriate food for him considering the problems he's having digesting the food, then check it out online to see what people say about it:)
  • My dog used to do that all the time also. But so does everyone in my family. Maybe it's contagious.
