You have a very good pont in your question. We can never touch or see what is THE truth. Nobody will, ever. That's why a religion is called 'believe', an agnostic confirms that we will never know if there is a god or not, and an Atheist believes there is no god. At the end, no-one knows. So, all the fighting in the name of religion, or attacking each other to convince each other of 'the truth' is basically stupid.

Agnostics are honest people who admit they do not know everything. They use their common sense and see the phenomena around them, including the claims of their fellow brothers and sisters, but they do not assume they know everything about reality. Atheists are people who think, actually look at the evidence all around and realize that there is no God. Believers are dreamers, people who accept things as fact even tough they haven't seen any fact to back up their beliefs. They are so obsessive about their beliefs that they eventually find personal "evidence" to back up their assumed "facts". Faith is their excuse for their adopted stupidity. Agnostics are the most wise as a group in my opinion because they have an open mind. Atheists can be very wise also, even more so than agnostics if they really put in the effort to study reality. Believers as a group as the most stupid, for assuming things that are completely against proven fact, but that doesn't mean that a believer is necessarily dumber than an Atheist or an Agnostic. I would have to write a book to explain all of the details, seriously.

Agnostics acknowledge they don't know, some contend it can't be known. Atheists and theists both believe they do know the truth about whether there is or is not a God. One of them is wrong.

that is why it is called "faith" . you have to believe what you cant see .

Atheists have sought god, and have come to the conclusion that with the available evidence- either God doesn't exist, or can't be bothered to keep her/his/it's word. Agnostics still search. And believers have convinced themselves that they're right no matter what. What is independent truth? http://godisimaginary.com/

atheists have cured themselves of the only curable hereditary disease of faith-in-god, they have unwashed their brain dry. They enjoy happy guilt-free lives. Agnostics are trying to unwash their brain without confidence while sitting on the fence. Believers are too fast to unwash, it is very similar to giving up smoking. Nobody ELSE can MAKE one do it. The 'Satanic doubt' has to rise from within. "washed brains are so dirty, even confession to Original Sin, holy communion, or Zam-Zam water wouldn't clean them!" "washed brains are like raped minds, often damaged beyond repair…” Mind is like a parachute. It works only when it is open. It may save your life! “If mind were a six-sided box subject to gravity, the best door to ‘open’ it would be the floor, so there would be no room for any [irrational superstitious] junk to be left behind!!”

"If it is just opinion, then it seems we can never touch or see independent truth." Cheer up! Atheists have already arrived at the independent truth, Agnostics are within a touching distance, a stone-idol's throw away! Believers have walled themselves off from the Truth from all [6] sides, plus a crescent-crossing barbed-wire fence, 'sin-poisoned' broken glass and a moat full of hell-fire... Need I carry on?

"If it were just opinion, then it seems we can never touch or see independent truth." There is informed knowledge (atheists), confused opinion (agnostics) and dogmatic delusion laced with superstitions (believers).

Man, influenced by delusion, ascribes to the all-loving God a vindcitive spirit that creates hells and purgatories. God in his infinite love, is continuously calling the soul continuously to return to His eternal kingdom of Bliss. But souls when they misuse their God-given independence, wander away from God and wallow in the mire of suffering punishing themselves by the effects of their own errors. The idea of heaven is true but most people's ideas of heaven are very limited.
