  • Happiness is a self induced drugged state, if you think happy your brain produces the proper "hormone or protein" and you feel happy. You think depressed and depressed you are. All the money in the world is not going to change the way you think. In your example the effect of money on happiness is indirect. Who better to know what the effects of large amounts of money are than a person with money? A poor guy?
