Is it true that your mouth has bacteria inside it that fights off infections that may occur in there?

    They are called probiotics. Im not sure about the infection thing, maybe its true. But there are hundreds of bacteria that are good for you, most live in your digestive tract i think.

    Animals lick their wounds because of antibacterials in saliva. We can too, but we got all funny about that stuff. It's still part of our grand design though. That said if you have eaten lots of crap and it's just festering in your teeth there will be bad bacteria present also. NB: Never let a Komodo Dragon lick your wounds - Seriously toxic, rank bacteria going on in their mouths.

    I have never heard they fight infections, I have heard there are bacterias in your mouth that causes gum disease.
