They can be. Primarily they can adversely affect your heart. Some people have actually died from them.
I don't believe there are any medications that make you lose weight. It is very dangerous to take medications without checking with your doctor first.
What ever happened to eating healthy and exercising? Have we become such a lazy society as to turn a blind eye to lifestyle and how that can affect our bodies?
Others will be jealous that you always seem to get things done quicker, but otherwise they're safe.

I hate correcting spelling, especially since my own isn't exactly perfect but do you mean 'reduce your weight' or do you mean 'reduce your wait....' at the doctors?
If you mean the first, don't particularly know which type you mean but here are some common side effect with stimulants - lack of sleep, loss of appitite (d'oh) I would also say long term use leads to irritability (This is a subjective comment - it happened to me, doesn't mean it'll happen to everyone.)
