  • This is a bit of a difficult question to answer, the actual numbers of reported attacks are sometimes suppressed for the sake of tourists - 'Want a black bear with your skiing?'. However, this is what I've found. During the 2000's, in the U.S. there has been 27 reported cases of which a bear has mauled a human to death. For sharks, reported deaths only equal 4. A few things to keep in mind, Odds of dying by automobile: 1 in 84 by lightening: 1 in 79,746 by shark: 1 in 2,392,380 So overall, the money seems to be on you're way more likely to die from a Bently than a bear but still - watch where you're going.
