Is it a sin to read 'holy' gospel books for entertainment & humor?

Probably if you do not accord the holy book proper reverence and respect it is a sin.

Thoughts, words, and actions can all be used to sin....but I am still going to say no because believing comes from hearing the Word and if you're reading it as entertainment, the Holy Spirit may still be able to use that to work in your heart and draw you to repent and turn to God. Read the gospel of John. Have fun.
