  • Early flight data recorders were literally boxes painted black, hence the term "Black Boxes". It wasn't until 1965 they were required to be painted bright orange or bright yellow to make them easier to find at a crash scene. The term "Black" also often implies death and the last moments of fatal flights are often revealed throught the FDR. Perhaps this is a reason the moniker stuck even after the devices were painted. http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_data_recorder http://aviation-safety.net/investigation/cvr/links.php
  • This is known as black box because the universe is black and black is everything and everything is black. And there is one more reason black has exitence from all the source still now and black color is the combination of all the colors and so from the earlier times the Flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were always colored with black color and from that concept the the box is still now called as black box but in actually it is orange and now the color of the box has been changed to orange because it will visible very easily and it will be recovered very easily without any extra effort and stress. This is the reason that it is called as black box and also there are many reasons want to know contact me. • I think you will find - apart from the fact they were originally painted black - A Black Box is a reference to the type of programming work that the box itself does. It is the conduit between The Plane and the Ground Level systems. A black box in PC programming terms is the conduit or translator for a software program or piece of coding. It is guaranteed to provide a certain result. It should never be tampered with and often is locked so you cannot see its workings (thus Black). A plane Black Box is similarly 'Black' because it means it should never be examined or opened by the users, they should just accept it will do its job. It only ever gets opened when they are trying to investigate a crash.
