  • I'd call that president obviously misquoted.
  • No president would actually say this, but that's kind of how the military operates. PTSD, cumulative brain traumas, chemical warfare poisoning are all brushed under the carpet and the military pretends it doesn't happen and won't pay to treat these things.
  • Howzabout a linky?
  • As reported by the Washington Post and others including Fox News, the Obama administration met with several veterans groups on March 16 and floated the idea of saving taxpayers $540 million by billing veterans' private insurance companies for treatment of conditions connected to their military service, including war injuries. The Department of Veterans Affairs currently bills these insurance companies for treatment of non-service-related conditions. But as administration officials made clear at the time, there was no proposal to *force* veterans to pay for treatment for their own injuries, or to make them buy private insurance if they did not already have it. In fact, administration officials told FactCheck.org at the time that their proposal would have no financial impact on veterans at all. So though they are 'selfish', he's not going to charge them. Yet. Nice, huh? http://www.legion.org/pressrelease/2548/american-legion-strongly-opposed-presidents-plan-charge-wounded-heroes-treatment
  • Obviously I jumped the gun, in an outraged response to satire, apparently this never happened (publicly) and yet I was so willing to believe that it had. I find it very sad that this president is so vehemently anti-American that a satire about him such as this is so easy to believe. Ah well, I am not perfect enough to know when the joke is on me soon enough to prevent me from making a fool of myself. Sorry to any who were offended.
  • Unpatriotic. Happy Monday to you! :)
  • I don't really believe that a president would say that (publicly, anyway)but if he did, I think he should be called an EX president.
  • I think it's screwed up. What till this guy says "Oh and about that promise that I made during the campaign about no taxing the middle class, well I take that back. Now let's not be selfish and pony up America."
  • im pretty sure obama didn't say that, because if he did, thats all glen beck would ever talk about
  • A hippocrite. He doesn't pay for his healthcare out of his pocket. It's paid out of yours.
  • Words that are so foul, that I really do not want to use them on a public chat site. Words so terrible that people would forget the original question. Stuff I would hate to explain to my late mother.
  • I would call that President misinformed and unpatriotic.
  • A neo-Conservative? Republican?
  • Gee...satire made up by wannabe comedians is now US policy... My, my how things have changed.
