  • Because he helped bring that %&*#'s child into the world. And if he's not enough of a man to help raise his own child then he's really a %&*#'s child!
  • Just because the mother doesn't love the father anymore, doesn't mean that he's magically not the father of the child. He still has to support his child even though he's nolonger romantically involved with the mother. That child is just as much the man's responsibility as it is the mother's.
  • i think that if the father raises the child that the mother should pay child support. and if the mother raises the child she should recieve support from the father. and if the grandparents are raising the child the mother and father should pay child support. people need no be responsible for their actions. if u can pay 600 a moth for a child u brought into this world u shouldnt have had unprotected sex in the first place
  • Because it's HIS "%&*#'s child". Child support, while it DOES help the mother, is supposed to be for the child. Remember, though, that until certain ages, that child will be LIVING with the mother, so if it HELPS her with rent and food, it helps the child. Remember, too... You can be pissed at her, but don't EVER show that to the child. You love on that kid all you can, because they will find a way to make all of these problems you are having (or she has) THEIR fault. BTW: "%&*#'s child"? Obviously, you didn't and/or don't LOVE that child that is yours. YOU need some help. Get over yourself, and think of YOUR CHILD.
  • It's not about you or her, but the child. Only low life, douchebag, scumballs fail to pay their child support.
  • Because it's 'CHILD SUPPORT', not ALIMONY. The child has to be supported no matter what the circumstances
  • The kid is your offspring, regardless. Perhaps she felt that in order to raise the %&*#'s child properly she needed to get the kid out of such a hostile atmosphere.
  • It's both parents' responsibility to support their kids financially and otherwise. Couples get divorced because they aren't right for each other ... that has nothing to do with their kids or their needs.
  • That's a separate issue, and should there be no justifiable cause, than he should go for custody. http://tinyurl.com/Custody-Can-A-Father-Win http://tinyurl.com/JointPhysicalCustody2 http://tinyurl.com/BirdNestCustody2
  • It's still his child isn't it? The father/child relationship is not the one ending. I would want to provide for my child. By the way, the child can probably sense the anger about providing for him/her and may deduce they are unwanted.
  • What?! Both mother and father made that child so both parents should take responsiblity in every way! What the hell has child support got to do with marridge? Its not about you or the mother its about the children!
  • she does not have to want fro you to still want o take care of your child.
  • 1) Who initially wants a divorce is not very important. In the end, it is two people who are no more able to live together (even if it is only the wish of one of them). Having children belong to the decisions that are normally made in community by a couple. It is also your responsibility for the future. On the other hand, that the couple separate does not mean that the parents have to separate from their children. If it is their wish to maintain a contact with them, this should be respected. 2) "The right to child support and the responsibilities of parents to provide such support have been internationally recognized. The 1992 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, a binding convention signed by every member nation of the United Nations and formally ratified by all but two, declares that the upbringing and development of children and a standard of living adequate for the children's development is a common responsibility of both parents and a fundamental human right for children, and asserts that the primary responsibility to provide such for the children rests with their parents. Other United Nations documents and decisions related to child support enforcement include the 1956 United Nations Convention on the Recovery Abroad of Maintenance, which was ratified by the vast majority of UN member nations." • Now I know why she divorced "him".
  • Because the child had nothing to do with the woman's decision. The child is a victim of the mother's decision to leave. Regardless of whether or not the mother had a valid reason to leave, it will cause hurt, anger, fear, ect. in the child as well. The reason you pay child support is because the CHILD needs it. It's hard to give money or support of any kind to someone you are angry with, but the money and support are not FOR that person, but for an innocent child who had no say in how their parent's chose to resolve their problems.
  • paying child support is the law.
  • Because you are the child's father no matter what else happens. Parents support their children. If you don't want to support your children, make sure you don't have any more.
  • Because the child has nothing to do with who instigated what and should not be punished.
  • My opinion is that if she left him to live with another man then let him pay to support the child. If she left him because they just can't tolerate one another or because he is abusive (and, since he is calling the child a %^*# child, I would tend to say that he is the problem) then he should definitely pay. Opinion.
  • Because I don't wanna pay for your %&# children! I work hard for my money and it's TAXED enough!! Because your ex will have to file for welfare if she can't take care of them!! You made em...YOU RAISE EM...I got my own!!
  • Because it isyour child regardless and you are responible for his or her upkeep....you argue she asked for the divorce...so let me turn it around...why should a woman be forced to stay in an unhappy marriage just because the father wont have to pay child support???...you made a child..it is yours if you dont want to pay child support file for custody, then you wont have to..but most men wont, because of the extremely difficult time a single parenthas raising a child on her own..you just want to walk away, tail between your legs and not do anything to support your own offspring..stop using this child as a weapon to hurt your EX..cough up the support or file for custody
  • That's just the way the law works. Divorces are always messy when there are children involved.
  • Is this YOUR biological child that you've lived with and supported/raised? Then you have to keep paying for that child but not for the wench who left. I don't always agree with child support and the laws around it!
  • The money is for the child, not the mother - that is why! By denying the mother the money, he would only be denying necessities (and perhaps luxuries) to his own child. The child should not have to suffer because of the break up of his parents marriage, no matter who was 'to blame'.
  • Because they're YOUR child, you bum.
  • I can see why she wanted the divorce, that's clear. She had a selfish !@@#$ husband who has no love for his child. I hope someday you see what your sick attitude has cost you and I don't mean in child support. You have been given a gift of responsibility and care for another that would shape your character from this self-absorbed, hateful empty person into another type of man. Sadly, you are not able to see an opportunity through love that would reshape your life, make you proud of yourself and grow into a man.
  • Fathers are suppose to support their children even if they're not married to the mother. However, the amount of money some men have to pay is ridiculous. Nas just got divorced from Kelis and he's paying 50,000 a month for a newborn. I sure "he's" not paying anything close to that amount for the %&*#'s child.
  • Aren't there sometimes cases though, where the wife will simply split with the kids, like move to another state and still demand child support? I've heard of women marrying men, getting pregnant and then promptly divorcing, just so they can collect child support payments from the men they duped. How is that fair?
