I tried it, it worked for me.

  • Every few days, its best too, a Virus could be on your computer for a few seconds, and that Virus may never come off, if you catch them as early as you can, the better they will come off. Just remember a Virus can do everything and Anything, Scan at least once a week at the most, as long as you go on safe websites you should be fine. • My virus/spyware programs are set to run automatically every day, the scan, update and if the find something they delete it. I then come in once every week or two and run a registry repair and a malware program for extra safety. Its the way I set up my customers when I do tech work. • full scans everyday and always updated as soon as they come out .. its a habit I got into many years ago and have never had a bug yet
  • I have AVG Antivirus and antispyware set to run at 2am everyday. I do other scans and use registry cleaners like CCleaner also. My system is very clean as I take good care of it. I also take all critical updates. I do the scan with the custom option so I can choose what I need and what I don't need. Auto updates is turned off on my computer. I check the windows update site often to see if there are any new critical updates.
