My moms narsisstic bipolar husband moved out, he recently called saying he just started taking a bipolar medication two days ago, and now he is sorry,he is going to change.Is he lying?How likely is it that he is lying?

It takes psychoactive meds a couple weeks to build up in the system. I don't know how much you know about this disorder, but I'd read up a bit so you'll know some basics apart from this mans' individual personality.

Don't take his word for it. I wouldn't believe him.

Odds are he partially believes this, but the second he starts feeling better he'll stop taking his meds and be right back where he was.

It's a little early to trust him. How would you know? Why should you care?

His illnesses also help him lie to show himself in the best light possible. If he came back after a year of therapy and meds, that would be more believeable. But 2 days???? The meds haven't even kicked in. +4
