  • Interesting. I believe it's just what I did: overcome insomnia, racing thoughts, agoraphobia, bit of body dysmorphic syndrome. To this day my imaginative life is prodigious, complex & creative..But I still would've gotten through those things WAY faster with adult intervention.
  • I believe a childs imagination is plenty powerful enough to self-soothe and cure common childhood ailments. I don't however think they are mature enough to figure that out and use it to their advantage unless they are led by someone mature enough to understand the power they have.
  • They might need a little help from their parents to get that imagination going:):)
  • In my experience, all children require the input of the parents to learn how to direct their imagination. However, since the common childhood complaints are usually created by their imaginations, they can also be overcome the same way. As far as I know, no children can develop a healthy attitude and mind without the support of adults.
  • I believe it depends on the individual child. I know that I learned to self-soothe and take care of most of my problems on my own; but it was because I had to.
