The Health Care business is almost 1/5th of the total US Gross Domestic Product now and rapidly expanding. In a decade, if we stay the current course, it will be 1/3 of our total economy. Making sure it keeps expanding three times as fast as inflation is worth trillions of dollars to those who profit from it. The industry is spending $1.4 million a day on lobbying right now. You can buy a lot of disinformation and a lot of legislators with that sort of cash.
-
Mainly because the health care industry and the insurance industry is spending millions upon millions of dollars dispensing disinformation and paying lobbyists to help them hang on to their dying cash cow.
-
Because the plan is socialist and one m ore step towards communism.

Communism is the Big Business's boogeyman. Over a hundred years ago; horse drawn train-conductors, wanted the State of New York to mandate a maximum number of hours they could work, down to 12 hours a day- from a maximum of 16 hour days. Teddy Roosevelt, decried such a notion as being: "Communistic". And we know exactly how much America became Communistic since they adopted an 8 hour day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight-hour_day

People are generally afraid of change. They would rather work with the old system because it is comfortable than accept a new and favorable system. Anyone who tries to install change gets attacked.

Commie? No, socialist. The health industry needs reform. Tort refor is also neede. Changing the laws so that insurance can be sold across State lines would be good for competition. Non-proofit co-ops would be good. Public option run by the Govt would be the worst thing possible.

the reason everyone is up in arms about obamas health plan is because ,in my opinion, not enough information is being released. people look at canada or europe and see their faults, assuming we will have the same. then we have those idiots in the us that think health care is a "right". why? i dont know. even the insurance company refer to them as benefits. that being said. obamas plan sucks. if you want healthcare get a job that provides it or pay for it. if you healthcare is so important to you that you feel your entitled to it... then there shouldnt be a price on it.
