Its not for others, its for them. So when they forget their own names, they can turn it around and look at it!

i say it is clever, to many people like to bug others about there names and why not change it up, i have a friend who did it cause of that fact men always lookd for her but gues what they lookd for the name and not her face me and her just crackd up all day about that cause she had her changed to im the one next door, no one got it LOL her boss told her that she could keep it that way.

Ha! I like the ones with the guy's name better. I always ask them if it's a cue card. :)

Hmmm... Funny. Where I worked, they put name-plates on everyone's cubical. I have TWO of them with my name on them. (Who else would use them?) It's not egomaniacal. Actually, in some offices it's logistics, as certain officers will always have THAT office or desk, so rather than continually change the name on the door, they put them on name-plates on their desk; or, as in my father's case, a member of his family bought him a name-plate/pen-holder set, and he simply put it on his desk. Now, if the guy is well-known (he's been in the news and on TV, maybe doing commercials for the business), he could get away with that sign. Yeah, it's clever, but what if someone DOESN'T know who he is? What if someone else is sitting at that desk for the day for some reason? I mean, I know I sat at my fathers' desk when he was on vacation, because at that time, his computer was the ONLY one that would connect to the home office of his insurance company, and was the ONLY computer with a freaking printer. And, yes. There were people who came in the office, walked over to his office/desk, and talked to me like I was him. AND, his picture was on a LOT of stuff, including special pictures, accoutrement, awards, etc. Those were not so "egomaniacal" as, if nothing else worked, conversation starters.
