Some do, I don't. I think it is a legend created to explain some unknown events.

Scientists now think that the chupacabra may be some kind of unknown canine. It's name translated means 'goat sucker' because of it's appetite for goat's blood. I can't say that I 'believe' in it or don't. I do believe as we encroach further and further into what's left of the Earth's wild lands, we might "discover" this and other unknown creatures while we drive them to extinction.

In personal opinion, I am starting to get skeptical of the El Chupacabra as an actual cryptid and not just a known yet misidentified creature.

If you go with the reports of killed farm animals, the chupacabra is likely a dog or just the death process misidentified (such as in cattle mutilations).

Now for its older humanoid appearance, I myself am starting to theorize if it couldn't be an escaped rhesus monkey with some type of horrible exotic disease or birth defect that was misidentified or identified correctly but due to its state of health appeared different and alien.

    But you never know...

Translated from Spanish it means "the goat sucker".The origin was from Puerto Rico. it would suck the blood from goats and other animals including pets, such as dogs. Many in the local population in the Caribbean believe it exists.

There is a lot of undiscovered wildlife on our Earth, a lot more so than our arrogant minds imagine. Why not? Maybe it's a species we know nothing about yet.

    Yeah! I divorced one.

Seriously, as mythical creatures go this is one I'd love to have.

Zakas has a song called El Chupacabra. Pretty cool. Check them out here (track 8 has a sample of the song):

No. It would have been identified by now, as it strikes in quite populated areas.
