The cost of replacing a damaged radiator in your car can run from $400 to $500 for standard sized vehicles. The radiator in a car cannot be repaired. It is a part that must be replaced.

I used to work in a radiator repair shop a few years back, and we DID do radiator repairs. If the leak was in the core or top or bottom tank of the radiator, it could be soldered. But these new radiators today have some plastic tanks which can not be soldered. However if the leak is in the core of the radiator, it can be repaired by soldering. But most radiator repair shops today; rather sell you a new radiator and a new thermostat, new hoses and a reverse flush. That's where they make the money.
If you want to save money, buy your radiator on ebay and install it yourself, or take it to a auto shop to install. The cost of my radiator from three different auto shops were well over $300.00. I decided to buy it on ebay for $94.00 including free shipping.

I beg to disagree. I got my leaking radiator repaired at a fraction of the cost of replacing it. In fact in India there are mechanics specializing in radiator repair alone.
