    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The cost to replace the windshield in a Honda Accord can be as little as $12.95 if you purchase a windshield replacement kit yourself. This does not factor in the price of the replacement windshield. If you take your car to a dealership to have the windshield replaced, it can cost as much as $600, though this price includes labor and the cost of the replacement windshield.

Do you think Simbol added the deductible to the bill because it wouldn't be profitable for the shop to pay your deductible. In British Columbia it is against the law for glass repair shops to waive the deductible for car repairs. That being said, the insurance corporation lowers the deductible to $200 from $300 when you have to have your windshield replaced. So if you're from B.C. and call a glass shop who says "For you, instead of $300 you can pay $200 deductible.", don't be fooled into thinking they are giving you a deal. It's in the fine print of you're insurance policy.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord and over the past 10 years I'm on my Third new Windshield.
All replaced for Free via my insurance company after
    1. The first got hit by a rock following a construction dump truck, and over the next 2 weeks the crack spread across the windshield.
    2. The second one just 'cracked' in the heat of a hot summer day, and again, called the Insurance company and they just told me to call some glass place, and they came out and replaced it while I was at work. No Problem-O, No Cost.
    3. The third one again was hit by a rock thrown up from a truck on the Interstate, and the crack again spread across the windshield over the next week or so.
All with no cost to me.
