It sure seems like it but I am not really sure if most comedians had tragic backgrounds. My guess would be that some have had tragic backgrounds.

Nope. Their happy so happy they can't stop thinking everythings funny. It's a condition i think.

I don't know all comedians, but those whom have made ME laugh always have an "E! TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY"...
