Must a Latin preposition always precede its object, or is it OK (for stylistic reasons, perhaps) to sometimes place the preposition after the object?

It is possible for some prepositions to follow its substantive. These are called postpositive prepositions. An example is "tenus", which means "right up to, as far as": "Capulo tenus" means "up to the hilt" (taken from Allen and Greenough's New Latin Grammar). Otherwise I have not seen any preposition to follow its substantive.
