  • JFK +5
  • FDR. But then it is hardly a fair comparison. FDR was in 3+ terms, during the Great Depression and World War II. JFK served less than a term and had the Cuban Missile Crisis. His Civil Rights record is kind of a mixed bag. He made some significant moves, but ofttimes only when his hand was forced. (Here's a good article on his civil rights record: http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/john_kennedy_and_civil_rights.htm )
  • I'll say FDR.
  • You are almost comparing apples and oranges. They were of two completely different eras and delt with different challenges. Over all FDR because of his time in office did many more things in a time of much unrest in the world of a much different nature than JFK. for goals accomplished however I will have to come down on the side of FDR.
  • I would say JFK,except for the "bay of pigs" incident.
  • JFK was an amazing man, and a strong president, who faced down a nuclear armed Russia. But FDR led us through 2 of the worst times in recent history. Both men withstood the trials of their times, and did with a style and grace not often seen anymore. But to measure the men, you must do it by the times in which they lived. The times were much tougher on FDR, and he still won through....FDR.
  • Do not think much of either, and JFK died before he could expand his legacy beyond the Missle Crisis, which he handled well even though in retrospect, he could have ended the cold war then and there. But thats OK. FDR was probably a socialist, and some of that legacy haunts us still. BUT you have to hand it to a man that faces down the Depression and World War II without breaking. I think I am fairly hard core, and I probably would have said "I think I won't run a third time". It probably indirectly killed him, but he definitely hung in to the end. Agree with him or not, a real soldier. So I guess FDR.
  • JFK, as he had less time to damage the country.
  • FDR, who stared down the rich bastards. And kept his infidilities hidden. And didn't personally sink his ship he commanded.
