Now is the time to buy a new car, if you have a paid for clunker. The incentives are out there and the car dealers are desperate for sales. Get approved for a loan and go for it.

Unfortunately my clunker (and it truly is a clunker) has a combined EPA estimate of 22 mpg. The clunker must have a combined EPA estimate of 18 mpg or lower to qualify for the program. I have friends with much newer model cars, in great condition, that qualify. How crappy is that? ;)

Just a sugar coated way for auto dealers securing a costomer base. It forces consumers down the same road without having the auto makers responsible for their own mess.

I've been trying to get rid of my car, but it actually gets mileage too high to be used in that program.
