I was aslo going to suggest the Kongs! I grew up with 2 Rotties that loved them!
I second and three-peed the Kongs, choosing the right size for the dog. They are great safe toys for dogs.
I've always had good luck with Kongs and also the hard Nyla Bones...I've recommended them to clients over the past 30 years...wide assortment of dogs from tiny to mastiff and pit bulls, retrievers too...and they have held up well.
As mentioned, you can stuff and even freeze the Kong so that the treats last longer. Usually stuffed with either low fat cottage cheese or plain yogurt as a base, a spoonful of peanut butter, or apple sauce or raw meats..frozen usually last a few hours! And will keep almost any dog entertained and glued to that activity!
I would NOT waste my money on the "Kong brand Stuffing" so much more cost effective to just do it yourself!
How about one of those rope toys?
Have you tried Kongs? They're really strong and you can put treats in them to keep dogs busy for awhile ... they have different sizes too.
