Im not asking if you LOVE your pet or not... Of COURSE you do! Do you think it adds to the stress or makes it better?

Pets reduce stress! That's why they are used as therapy in hospitals and nursing homes. If you don't have a well-controlled life, having pets out of control will just make it worse. If your pets add stress, get a trainer.

It has been scientifically tested and proved that holding a small animal and petting it, can lower your blood pressure and stress levels. That's one of the reasons you may see an increase in service dogs. They are most helpful for older people.

Now you just know what I am going to say! There is no better destresser than petting a cat who is laying in bed with you and purring in your ear. Heavenly. For the life of me I can not understand how any pet could add to the stress of one's life unless it is someone who hates animals.

I love having my chihuahuas, they really help relieve my stress. Its nice to sit on the couch and watch tv and pet my dogs. When my husband was overseas my dog kept me so much company at night. I will have animals till the day I die ;)

I was clean and serene when I received my dog,the change from having no pet to being responsible for one might have been a little stressful but beyond that he was the best thing since apple pie in my world!
