This is hard to answer because I don't know what you are asking exactly. Are you filling out a statement to get paid by your company or IRS or something? I don't think it falls into an asset or liability category just a company expense or not.

This is a hard question but in my opinion I would say paying a credit card bill is an expense.

While the bill is sitting there on your desk waiting to be paid, it is a liability. Once you pay it, it becomes an expense.
