Is it normal to have a blood sugar of 61 only 1 hour after eating a large roast beef poboy with swiss and gravy? What could be causing the hypoglycemia? The person is not diabetic.

You're reading Why do complex carbohydrates give a higher GI (ie. wholemeal bread) than simple sugars? This seems counter intuitive to me, as the complex carbohydrates would give a slower release of energy as they need to be broken up.
