  • urm yes i think it is :) :)
  • That depends on your budget. If your rent is lower than the price of the necklace... I think you have your answer.
  • 800? what are you thinking of? How about a necklace worth much less and sponsoring a needy child with the rest...they only cost $30 a month.
  • Depends on who you are asking it from. For my 16th, I asked for a box, so to me it does seem a BIT much
  • well, I would say yes, but I know that a lot of parents by the kids cars for their 16th birthdays as well so their isn't much of a difference really. In my opinion, I think in either case the parents are spoiling their children, and that the kid should have to buy the car themselves if they want one, but I am probably in the minority on the car issue.
  • Well, I look at it two ways: $800. for a necklace at Tiffany's is one of the least expensive necklaces they must have there. and It depends on the income of the parents. Age 16 is a big deal for boys and girls. Some people give their kid a car at age 16 that is worth alot more than $800. I think it is within reason if the person getting the gift is a good kid and a good student in school. It's a choice the parents need to make based on their income and what kind of child they have - very deserving at age 16 or if they are being pressured into it. If they feel anyway pressured, then I would say get something cheaper but just as meaningful.
  • If it is a hardship for your parents to come up with the money for it, yes it is too much to ask. If your family is wealthy, then it probably isn't.
  • That depends entirely on what your parents can afford to spend.
  • Um, yeah. I wouldn't even own an $800 necklace for fear I'd break or lose it, and I'm some years older than 16.
  • Considering I asked for a car, I guess not. However, that car was only $1,050 (used). And I drove it work so I could pay my parents back for fronting the money to buy it and help my mom pay the bills. An $800 necklace just looks nice and doesn't do much more than that. If your parents can easily afford it, I suppose it isn't a lot to ask for. If they cannot, then take whatever gift they buy for you and appreciate it just as much.
  • Hell, no. You're only 16 once, and that's not too expensive for Tiffanys. Go for it!
