I'm not certain "the world" will ever accept a leader of any stripe. And as for leaders, there already are many gay congressmen, members of parliaments around the world, priests and other religious leaders, business leaders, military leaders... And there have been historical leaders who were gay. +5

Yes. Closeted-gay Al Gore almost made it to the nation's highest office and openly gay Barney Frank, Harvey Milk and others have made it to prominent offices.

the world? lol...or the United States? anythings possible with mankind today...so, no one can say whats gonna happen anymore.... personally, individually, a gay may one day be the US leader, but i could not and would not ever accept him..... like the Israelites under Roman 'rule,leadership' , God is and always be MY LEADER...amen

I know Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn would have gotten a prominent position in the Dutch parliament if he hadn't been shot. (He wasn't shot because he was openly gay, he was shot by a left-wing nut, for his radical right-wing ideas.
