  • Do you have anything to support this statement? What kind of greed and incompetence? Throw us a bone.
  • Not at all. Greed is good. It is greed that motivates us to be the best that we can be. It is laziness, a victim mentality and a "the government owes me something" mentality that is what's killing America.
  • many americans are trying to fill their souls with stuff...which can look like greed. the foolish choices made out of the desparation with which they pursue this endeavor can look like incompetence. one poster said that greed is the motivating factor in america...that is probably true for some also...but look what it motivates them to do...look at our mortgage industry and all of the investment scandals...not to mention the businesses that fail because they were managed out of greed instead of for long term survival. there are reasons other than greed to be motivated...one of maslow's identified human needs was a sense of mastery...and if you do what you love and do it well, the money will follow...you may not be a "wealthy madoff" but you won't be jail either!
  • that is exactly what has brought the U.S. to its knee's ( again ) in the last few years .. greed and profits at any price and incompetent governments who allowed this to happen
  • A case could be made for that point of view.
  • the whole world is suffering, not just us.
  • I think the UK is drowning in statism and radicalized Islam. The whole Middle East is drowning in religious warfare. Hell, even Antarctica is drowning in itself as it melts. The bottom line is, I just made a bunch of assumptions, maybe true, maybe false, but what I said can't be applied to every single Briton, or Middle Easterner, or Antarcticite (lol). For every bad element in a country there is a good one, so I have to respectfully disagree with your assertion.
