There are different types of veggies. Most of them do not eat any type of animal product including eggs, and milk, others choose not to eat the animals themselves, I think the first is called vegan, and the second is vegetarian. If you choose not to eat meat you can get protein from nuts, and peanut butter. I hope that helps a bit.

Think carefully about why you want to become a vegetarian, and also think about how you will cope with large family occasions, like thanksgiving or christmas. If you are serious about it, the easiest thing to do is to stop eating meat, and fish, and chicken, and if you want to go all the way, dairy products, eggs, etc. You can be a vegan (no animal products at all) or a lacto-vegetarian (dairy products are ok, on the basis that the animal must be milked, and that milking it does not kill it). Or Lacto-ovo-vegetarian the same but you can also eat eggs - ok to eat if they are unfertilised. But... think about the dairy - you will need to look for vegetarian cheeses - cheese contains rennet - this comes from cows - and usually the cow is dead when it is extracted. So, you will need to look for cheese that contains vegetarian rennet. I was a vegetarian for 14 years. I could only manage a vegan diet for 6 months at a time - after 6 months, I found i was run down and was catching colds a lot - so I went back to eating dairy again for 6 months, and then vegan for 6 months. I know that many people can live very healthily on a vegan diet, but I could not manage it - it is difficult to re-think your entire way of life and diet to accommodate the kinds of things you need to remain healthy - and although that is great if you live on your own, it is very difficult to maintain while living in a family - you are expecting your mother, or whoever cooks, to provide a completely different eating program just for you - not to mention using different chopping boards, cooking equipment etc! Once, I went to a bbq, and some friends had actually set up a separate bbq just for the veggie stuff, so the meat and veggie stuff was not cooked on the same grill! You will need to be accommodating to other people's needs too - being a vegetarian can make other people's lives difficult - especially if they are asking you round for dinner. I like this website: http://www.vegsoc.org/ It has tips on becoming a vegetarian. The definitions page has a good section on stumbling blocks (rennet, gelatine etc). And be prepared to spend ages in the supermarket, as you read the ingredients of every single item, looking out for animal fats, gelatine, etc!!!

At 15, your main concern is to ensure that your diet gives you enough nutrition to grow properly in addition to regular life functions. Also, consider why you want to be a vegetarian. Different reasons tend to make for different approaches.

Stop consuming anything with meat (including fish) and meat broths. It's pretty simple to do if you are not a vegan. Eat a wide variety of colors of vegetables and fruits. Learn how to cook for yourself, start cooking tofu. It's an excellent source of protein with very little calories, fat or carbs. If you want to be vegan, you will have to do a lot of reading on anything you buy. Avoid processed foods as much as possible to be healthy. Eat raw, or self-prepared meals, or go out to vegan restaurants if any are in your town. If you have any specific questions (vegan for many years here) feel free to ask me. =)
