your question is cute in its innocence. yes, it will really grow into a watermelon. unless it was grown from a Monsanto watermelon seed, in which case it would have been genetically engineered to be sterile. You'd have to "buy" a special seed.

It depends on how you care for it. Water it an' don't let someone or pets step on it's vine. Vines are fragile.
