They can hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their wings 12-90 times per second (depending on the species). They can also fly backwards, and are the only group of birds able to do so. The Hummingbird....

Probably the hummingbird, although last weekend I saw a crow flying sideways! There were a bunch of them catching the wind atop a cliff and they would be caught up in a gust sideways. It looked like they were having a lot of fun.

They are cool. Have you heard them chirp? I have several feeders and when two or more of the males get together they tend to fight and chirp at each other. They don't usually make any sounds.
