That is strange cause boxers don't usually bite. However all dogs can become aggressive. Do you take him on walks and let him get A LOT of exercise? They are a very athletic breed and can get along with anyone. Ours is the biggest clown in the world.

I'm not sure what your question is, but it appears you have an agressive dog. He's trying to control the situation, but he's a dog. You have to step up and take control of your dog. You should be the boss. You'd better do something before he bites the wrong person & you wind up with charges & threat of putting down your dog. Hey, you ever watch the "Dog Whisperer"?

He is at the age where the old hormones really start to run. Has he been neutered? Are you planning on neutering him. It won't totally solve the problem, but it does generally HELP with the hormonal side of things. If you are not showing him to earn his points and titles for breeding, then there is no logical reason NOT to have him neutered. The problem can be worked on. But it does require a lot of work on the part of the humans! If no one is willing to do the work, then you are heading for a world of trouble, possible law suits and maybe even being threatened with having to put him down. It happens. I'd put him on a training called NILIF. Nothing In Life Is Free. This means that if you have not been training him to know and do his basic obedience, SIT, LAY DOWN, COME, STAY, BACK UP, BACK OFF, GET DOWN, GET UP, GO TO...your bed, the door...then you MUST start working on these good and acceptable behaviors NOW! NILIF...means that EVERYTHING the dog values...MUST be earned by him correctly and quickly doing an acceptable behavior that you have taught him to do. All food he receives, going out, getting petted, getting to play...ALL must be earned...IT IS a very positive training method, because, obviously...the dog is REWARDED for doing correct behaviors. Likewise, the dog learns without a shadow of a doubt that HUMANS ARE THE SOURCE OF ALL GOOD THINGS...and this means ALL HUMANS... You have to become very quick to read his body language, and very quick to respond so that he figures out that correct behaviors earn the rewards, while failing to do correct behaviors gets him NOTHING. When friends come over you MUST put him on lead until he is 100% on the mark for doing exactly what you tell him to do. YOU can not allow him the chance to bite, or nip at ANYONE...EVER...THAT WOULD BE GROSS IRRESPONSIBILITY on YOUR part, because you already know there is a problem! You want to keep your tone of voice CALM, FIRM AND HAPPY...give out the opinion that he WILL BE successful in doing what you want him to do, but set him up for success, in not giving in, not letting him run about loose...make it all a big game and he will become ADDICTED to playing it...being a calm, relaxed, good dog with reliable behaviors. Unless he is sitting or even laying down CALMLY..he does not get fed...even if it takes you 15 minutes to get him calmed down....you also interrupt his meals... asking him to BACK UP...so that you can TAKE HIS FOOD BOWL AWAY for a moment. You may add something extra special to the bowl, ask for the sit, and return it to him...once he is accustom to this... you may REMOVE some of the food...and then feed him the rest 20 minutes or an hour later.... You may want to consider putting him on a Species Appropriate Diet of RAW MEATS, ORGANS AND BONES...this often helps to calm a dog down, as their health improves a great deal. Dogs and cats are designed to digest and use RAW MEATS, ORGANS AND BONES...they are NOT designed to eat GRAINS, fruits or veggies...which is what most commercial feed is made up of. Surprisingly, I spend LESS money to feed correctly than I did to feed a wrong diet over the past years! I get a lot of meats FOR FREE...off of Freecycle... it has made a profound difference in my own dogs and cats. You can learn more about it here: http://www.skylarzack.com/rawfeeding.htm http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/rawfeeding/ Be aware too that this sort of behavior has been linked to VACCINES..which are, of course, supposed to protect our beloved companion animals...but in reality cause all sorts of physical health and behavioral health problems... http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/TruthAboutVaccines/?yguid=354615195 Of course one of the biggest problems can be a lack of training using Positive Reinforcement methods, or even worse a LACK OF TRAINING AT ALL. DOGS do not think like humans. They have their own "rules." In order for a dog to have good behaviors, we have to teach them what is and is not acceptable, they don't come knowing it. The more good behaviors you teach your dog, the bigger grouping of ACCEPTABLE behaviors you have to then direct your do to do, when your dog is about to make a BAD CHOICE of behaviors! Make sure you train daily, and that he is also getting enough good hard exercise and play (using NILIF!) ALWAYS SET HIM UP TO BE SUCCESSFUL and he will not disappoint you. Good luck! YOU..and he can do this!
