Because if you were to see him on the street and didn't know who he was... you would assume he was just another regular black man.

Good point. He is as white as he is black. But I suppose he is the first president with a significant black ancestry. Or, put another way, he is the first American president with a skin shade slightly darker than the average incumbent.

Because people are dumb asses & were swept up in the historical "first black president" crap. To think that the majority of a country cared more about what a candidate's skin color was than the policies they wanted to employ shows that as a people....we have a long way to go. by this I mean [just to clarify so people don't take it the wrong way] that a presidential candidate shouldn't have an advantage/disadvantage because of what they look like. We are all equally screwed in this world, so why don't we spend less time worrying about the 1st "black, asian, female/etc." & focus on finding one that won't screw us over. ........though when you think about it, an honest politician is the ultimate form of an oxymoron ;D
