My neck is not sufficently red to adhere to such an idea; I never called them that.

I still do ocassionaly; fuck the french i say, still it doesnt exactly roll off the toung so i usually just say "Fries".

hell yeah i call them freedom fries. i never really knew why they were called french fries to begin with. and basically fuck the french.

I never heard anyone say that. I never did. I thought it sounded idiotic. I never say "French" fries anyway. I just say "fries."

I'm sure many of the viewers of Fox News are still on the freedom fry bandwagon. Its not often intelligent to thumb your nose at a country with the 5th largest GDP in the world. Plus great food and great wine come on. Bush did have away with diplomacy.

The Diner near my house still calls them Freedom Fries. the fries are served with melted american cheese and brown gravy. Yum...

Calling the foodstuff in question 'Freedom Fries' was always a bit silly. However, that's not to say that those in the US who resented France re. it's decision on Iraq didn't have just cause to feel as they did / do. France largely didn't want to engage in the Iraq war because they had THE MOST money to lose (aside from Iraq itself) if Iraq lost control of it's oil as France had massive investments there. Perversely though France is one of the world's largest arms manufacturers, (and this is out of proportion to it's historical and political need). So they won't muck in on 'moral' grounds but are happy to profit from war. Sadly this is typical of the preaching but illogical and / or hypocritical French mentality. Before any French ABers shoot me for this just remember that London is now the 6th largest French (by population), city and a lot of that defection from France is down to frustration with French social dogma.
