Inspect carefully in advance... my daughter bought a foreclosure and the foreclosed owners ripped out everything that was not bolted down and then some that was, including stove, garage door opener, doors, etc. If there's not a stove for some reason it is considered "uninhabitable" and the mortgage lender is not allowed to underwrite it... we had to just buy a stove and put it in *before* she owned it in order for the deal to go through. She still got a good deal.

Some people who are being foreclosed upon will intentionally damage the home so beware. Did they flush towels down the toilets in order to jam the drain pipes? Better to find out earlier rather than later.
