Couch Soda and pop i say neither it's an American thing i think? I just say what i want like coke, lemonade or whatever it is. Or a fizzy drink :D
-
well bangs is one for america, as is boondocks. the head and cantelope. if someone said "I had blue in the back of the ute and some Galah came out of nowhere and would of hit us if i didnt throw on the anchor" you'd be in Australia, broken hill listening to a guy talk about his dog and him in the car almost having a car crash. if you said Skoool instead of school and pastie instead of paRstie you'd be in sydney. if you said "give us a pot of ted love" you'd be at the pub. if they end everything they say with "man" your in new Zealand. if they end everything they say with 'Ae" your in Queensland. if someones shouting at you to bring the dead horse, your in the kitchen and your guests would like some tomato sauce. they call it Ketchup in america.

Where I live(Louisiana) all soft drinks are called cokes and we say couch.
-
We say couch and soda. However, in Northern California, everyone has a habit of saying 'hella'. Like, "that's hella cool." Southern California makes fun of us for it.

Well, I'm from Chicago, the couch and pop land. But I'm in Phoenix the sofa and soda land. Very confusing for me. I also say gravy and not spaghetti SAUCE and my family is 100 percent Italian.

I sit on a couch, and drink pop, we eat dinner instead of supper, I say qupon instead of coupon... some folks around here worsh their clothes instead of wash them.... and when I misunderstand a question asked of me I say "please?" instead of pardon me... when I hang up the phone I say hmmm byee byee with a drawl...For breakfast I might fry up some Goetta, and its very common for us to eat white brats and chili with speghetti w/ chedder cheese and possibly additional topping of onions and or beans... we actually have famious restaurants to serve our 3 4 or 5 ways :) Can "you guys" figure out where I am from?
-
i say couch and pop. when i'm in the grocery store, i ask for a sack instead of a bag. when i say root, it doesn't rhyme with boot, but with foot instead. i'm originally from the midwest.

Couch, Soda. I honestly don't know. I tend to use words that come and go in my little group of friends- much of which has been "borrowed" from other people, often from different geographical areas. Though, I can tell you how I pronounce some words, and that might give you some clues, possibly. MICK-Donald's, LOY-yer, No-Buddy... Maybe the lack of an accent might clue you in? (And no, my avatar has nothing to do with where I'm from.)

I drink fizz (unless I specify e.g. Coke, Lemonade, Lilt etc.) And I sit on the settee or sofa :o)
