Did any mechanic think to check the CV (constant velocity) Joints? Boots?

    Steering componants (rack & pinion)?

Is something loose or out of place within the engine compartment?

Without physically looking at your vehicle, I would suggest to at least have them checked.

your problem is probably the same as some of the others i noticed on the internet and my grandmas. It's a piss poor design to say the least, but the mounting tab on the front bolt in sub frame that arcs up word to hold the rack and pinion in place is rusted and broken off on hers. unfortunately i myself didn't even notice it until today. Lucky us huh...... I'm extremely unhappy that both me and my friends which are all mechanics never noticed this when she bought the car since which time i've done quick struts, rear struts, brakes, intake gaskets, ps pump so on..... all to have a car that's not even safe to drive and a car whose repair cost would be so high it should be in the junkyard. That and i realy highly doubt i should be attempting this repair under neath the car on jack stands ,but oh well this is what happens...... Thanks a lot chevy for a complete pos.
