Incidentally, I heard an interview with one of the agents on the ground that day about the potential use of the "bubbletop." It wasn't bulletproof, as many seem to think, but glass; so it wouldn't have blocked any shots, but it might have deflected them, or it might have deterred the shooter(s) into thinking "not the right day."

    The secret service wanted the top up and they wanted to be standing on the running boards of the limo during the drive downtown. Kennedy insisted that the top remain off, this was against agents wishes. Kennedy also did not want the agents standing on the running boards of the car as he wanted to be as close as possible to the public, sadly this lead to his death.
