  • Because too many of them feel the need to become the "gangsta shit", and they end up committing ludicrous crimes that they get caught for. And the only reason they get caught is because they can't run: The shoes are to big, the pants are too low, and the medallion is too heavy.

  • My guess would be the programs set up in the sixties and seventies by Dixiecrats, which have broken down what little family and community structure was left among African Americans after slavery. If you want to give people a hand up, you don't start by requiring that they have kids out of wedlock in order to get that help. If you truly want to help a people become full-fledged members of society, you want to start by encouraging functional families. Boys growing up in single parent homes headed by their moms aren't going to have any idea how to be men, or husbands or fathers. They are cast adrift without leadership or mentors and then we wonder how they come to be criminals?

  • most grow up in the culture that it is better to be the taking advantage of someone than be taken advatage of first. almost a survival mechanism. you can say its a lack of male influance or education, or whatever. i think its just the easiest choice to make and it has been not looked down upon in thoes communities and cultures for quite a while now.

  • It may be the fact that black culture glorifies lack of education, crime, and a don't give a f**k attitude. At least that's how their pop culture is. It's really sad and needs to change. It keeps them in the mentality they they have to be gangstas and thugs.
