He was on a US Airways flight last night that made such a rough landing that it blew out its tired, and he complained of having hit his head and not feeling well before he went to bed.

That sounds like an untreated concussion and/or brain aneurysm.

I felt bad, because I never liked him much. At least he was in the process of training a replacement, so maybe he was prescient. lol

I'm sad to hear about it. I liked him. He was loud but entertaining.

I'm afraid the rough landing of his airplance yesterday might have snapped a blood vessel in his brain or something similar. It's tragic.

As far as this week goes, I'm wondering who the next 2 celebrities to go will be. They happen in threes, and we had Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson as the first 3. Now Billy Mays is the first of a new set of 3. Superstitious, but usually true.

That is too bad. I feel for his family since he was only 49. Ironic that his family will possibly hire a law firm that will pitch to the airline that they are responsible for his death.

It is unfortunate that he checked out at such a young age. Sadly he will be missed by many people Im sure. I didnt really know the man except by the infommercials he was on. I mean the guy was always screaming at you to buy products. Maybe he was just a loud talker I dont know. I dont really have a reaction to be quite honest. I wasnt related to the guy nor was I a friend.

Thats sad, he should have gone to the doctor after hitting his head. Thats the first thing I would have done. Than again, I'm not a stubborn male.

I don't have a clue who he is(was). But for those who
nearly worship the so-called "celebrities", the message
should be clear. All those people are flesh and blood
human beings who just happen to have different jobs
than ours--that's all they are, they are no more than
that. And like the rest of us they too die.

I never really liked him all that much until I saw "Pitchmen". He's a regular guy with a pitchman mentality. And no... He didn't "pitch" at home. (That was joke I'd thought of... "Billy Mays here, with the Billy Mays club." (completely naked, of course).

From what I read above, it sounds like the same thing that killed Liam Neeson's wife, Natasha Richardson, in mid-March - http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2009/03/liam-neeson-rus.html .

He seemed to be a pretty cool guy, as much as the "pitch"ing of his products could drive you crazy.

As for this week... More like this MONTH... David Carridine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Faucett, Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays. It's getting a bit scary... Who's next?

I didn't like his type of showmanship, but I hate it that he died. I would have liked it if he could have enjoyed his success longer than that. +5

Some People liked him, some didn't, but the guy was good at what he was paid to do. I was shocked when I heard, and this week was just a week when some famous people passed away. There probably is some superstition in this, but it all just happened, that's all. May all our departed rest peacefully.

I feel exceptionally bad because I always watched Pitchmen and he seems like the only guy ever on tv who has a leveled head. He has fun on the show and it's never some of this unconvincing and put-on fighting crap.
