Depends on the situation. Sometimes guys have it rough,..sometimes gals have it rough. Sometimes both have it rough at the same time. That is usually when they are best together. I have had good times and bad times. The worst times were because I was male and young. Uncle Sam needed me and many others for a job. It was a lousy job with low pay and very hazardous to your health. We went, though we were highly dubious about the job and its possibility of succeeding. It was an effort in futility. When a nineteen yr.-old in a jungle sees futility where Harvard Grads in offices cannot, you know something is wrong. We gutted it out, though. We did what we were told to do. None of us came back with any "youthful romanticism", though. Girls our age had no clue what we were about. No one else did either. We were even seen as potential criminals. Stupid people. I almost left the country, myself. I would have if it were not for my Dad's health situation. I could not leave him,...the old WWII Marine. I stayed for him.

I still think men have it better, because women have to work and do most of the family-related things. They still do a majority of the cooking and housework, as well as dealing with children. I think as a woman it is hard because you cannot have it all - you can't compete on the same level as single women or men at work and give the same input when you have a home life which expects your attention, so you have to choose or just give too much of yourself. There is no such thing as having it all.
