They really don't look alike. A coonhound looks like a hound, with large ears and a long tail and usually with folds of skin around their neck area, like dewlaps, a strong dog, kind of chunky and solid. A doberman is a graceful, elegant dog with muscles but long kind, not thick chunky ones. They have a fine kind of pointy muzzle, not blocky like a coonhound.
