They might *cause* a crash if'n you're F'n around with 'em! ;-)

I don't believe it would make much difference really. The crashes I have witnessed a few buttons placed on the steering wheel would not have done as much damage as the airbag does.

I don't see how they could make a crash more dangerous. Airbags would deploy and nothing on the steering wheel should injure the driver. I'm not positive, but in a crash, the steering wheel buttons might be disabled.
