try tapping F8 as soon as you boot up. If it takes you to the option screen you can try for the last known good configuration option or safe mode. If you can get into windows via one of those options, the first thing you should do is right-click on the My Computer icon and scroll to properties, left-click and then go to Advanced.Then click on the Settings button in the bottom panel and UNCHECK the Automatic Restart box,OK and come out. Now, when you next boot up normally, if you still have a problem, the blue screen will stay up so you can read it and relay the necessary information to others if need be, and the machine will not go into a loop of shutdown-restart. If you cannot get into the machine either by safe mode or LKGC, you may have to put the system disk in and repair the problem by running another copy of the OS over the top of the old version.
