G'day Freaky Chick, Thank you for your question. There are various contenders for the title of worst serial killer. Thug Behram of the Indian thugee cult confessed to killing 931 victims by strangulation between 1790 and 1830. However he may not have killed that many. Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian aristocrat during early modern times, killed as many as 600 girls. The worst serial killer Dr Harold Shipman of England murdered at least 215 of his patients between 1975 and 1998 although he was only tried for 15. The thugs as a whole killed two milion people. This is the most people killed by a single man. The term thug for a violent person comes from the thugees. I have attached sources for your reference. The next one. No seriously, probably John Wayne Gacy. Someone extremely intelligent, socio-pathic. Someone with no ties-no one to answer to. No "feeling" of remorse. Sadistic. Someone who is normally in a trusted position. Perhaps there are some we don't even know about. I suspect there are.

Elizabeth Bathroy by far. She not only killed young women and children, but torchured them for years first. She even made them to do it to each other and themselves while she watched.

Hm... well, I have a real interest in Serial Killers and have read a few books on them, but it's hard to compare. Each have killed, some lower than others, and each have had their own methods of killing. Some killers who may have only taken a few lives are still known more than those who've killed hundreds. Take Manson for example. He ordered killings, yet he's remembered as one of the worst Serial Killers ever. If I really had to choose, I'd say Hitler. He may not have been a Serial Killer per se, but ordering the deaths of all those people (as Manson did) should put him in the running for number one.

i would have to say Ted Bundy just because it hits home. My girlfriends mom's locker partner was killed by Ted, in idaho. When Ted was in Utah, he tried getting my grandma. For me it just hits home, what a scary man, i mean he looked like an average next door neighbor.
