I like discussing racial THEORY but the racist questions are tiring. Racism, itself, is both tiring and disgusting.

OH MY GOD RACISM IS SO DISGUSTING! I SPIT ON RACISTS AND AM VERY RACE-SENSITIVE! /sarcasm In the U.S. race is a sensitive subject publicly because of continued resentment on one end and ongoing self-esteem issues on the other. Thankfully there have been a rash of public figures, academics, entertainers, and authors that have be taking race head on and not tip-toeing around the subject. Honestly, I don't give a shit. I call things as I see it, and within the academic community I've butt heads more then once for being forthcoming about the issue. I challenge people when they pull the race card and I confront those who claim to be anti-racist. Let's face it, the only way race is going to not be seen as some kind of taboo area in this country is to smash down the misconceptions about it. With this said, I don't see anything wrong with people asking whatever questions they want. As long as people are "not allowed" to ask something because it might "offend" (or force the "I'm totally not racist" crowd to pretend to be offended) someone, it's going to prevent both the person asking the question from understanding their potentially flawed thinking and the person being offended from getting over themselves and realizing they can't pull the race card every time they see a question eluding to race. Maybe they will be forced to actually think and defend the reason for them being offended, what a concept.
