Is it true that wasp spray is better to ward off an attacker than pepper spray is?

I've never heard of wasp spray being used in that way, but I do know that pepper spray has a nasty habbit of staying around for a long time. For example, a person who got shot with pepper spray would take a shower, and the water would wash it down their body. While it is moving though, it burns your body as it slowly washes off your body. So to ward off a man, I'd use pepper spray.
